It's really a peace of cake!
repare the damage with a soldergun, simply melt the torn parts thogether by pressing in between with the hot metalpoint (almost thrue the plastic but not total) and after you created a little hole you wipe material from around in that hole, and so on the whole Crack

After the whole crack is ''melted'' away on two sides you kan start filling it up with extra plastic again melted and pushed and wiped on the repared spot so you finally only have to sandpaper it and spray primer/filler on it.

Ok, I had another idea today. What if I was to do like I was saying before by laying the Bondo figerglass/epoxy on both sides after having drilled lots of holes through the cover so that the epoxy would be binding both inner and outer sides together? This seems like it would solve any bonding issues.

I used a soldering iron. Just like piet had mentioned. My side panel had a crack about 6 inchs long. Just melt the crack back together. Do a little sanding and your done. Mine looks great! Just needs paint. I haven't bought any in some time but Ace Hardware use to sell this tip that fits into your soldering gun that had flat tips. They work great for me. Can't tell you how many things a have melted back together using them.

I have repaired the fairing on SWMBO's FJ1100 by melting cracks back together, and melting a piece of heavy gauge stainless steel screen into the repair area, kinda like a bandage over the crack and apply the flat tip of the soldering iron to the screen until the plastic melts and oozes through the screen. It makes a very strong repair.

The reason I want to use the fiberglass is that a piece of mine is broke off and missing. Unfortunately, I cant just solder.
