As I lay in bed on my boat Saturday night at 11:30 I heard Someone reving up a motor cycle real hard then roar off up the street. As I turned over and went back to sleep I thought to myself that someone was really abusing the poor motorcycle. In the morning, after rowing ashore I discovered that it was my poor motorcycle that had been abused and stolen. I couldn't beleive that anyone would steal a 25 year old beater motorcycle. After calling the cops and making a report I called my friend Larry (we were going to ride up to the orange county railroad museum [california]) and he came down and picked me up and we went by pickup instead. At 11am The San Diego PD called me and said that they had arrested the guy ripping off a church and had impounded the bike. We headed back and picked up the Black Hammer. $384.00 To get it out of impound. I hurts to get ripped off by the city as well as the crook. The bike barely runs rear wheel bent front fender bashed in brake handle broken windshield scratched all to hell. I won't know what else or how bad for about 2 week as work will keep me away. by the way the bike was impounded because the PD recovered it at 6:30 that morning an hour before I filed the theft report.
I could have prevented the theft by having a lock on the wheel or brake disk as they steal a old bike for joy riding while the new bikes are stolen by pros for the parts and they usually don't ride it off but pick it up and put it in a truck or an. So get a lock for the wheel.
