Sunday night the bro in law shows up with a 04 Warrior sporting a wicked yellow and black flame paint job and a pair of loud shorties. I check the bike out and find kinda cool. Sliding upstairs, I quickly change in to jeans and shoes, grab my helmet and come out of the house with a grin on my face. He tosses me the keys with a curt "dont wreck it". I cruise around for a few block to get thing dialed in. Not used to foward pegs and shifter or the wide handle bars. I found it handled pretty fair for such a big beast. Seems pretty strong on acceleration to. With my confidence heightened, I head for the interstate. A long right hand sweeper on-ramp, I nail it. What I was meet with was quite a rush of acceleration. I kept it nailed trying to focus on the sweeping LCD tach, not easy. I shift when I think the engine is starting to protest to much. The analog speedo easily clears 125-127 as I smack the fifth and final gear. Aside from the wind blast from not being able to tuck down on the tank, the ride was stable as a train. Running out of road I back off and roll into another, off camber, right hand off-ramp, again no surprises. This thing will flat haul ass, stop on a dime and handles quite well. I would change handlebars and move the pegs, but all in all a very impressive scooter. This is NOT your daddys V-Twin
I cruise back to house at more sedate speed, slide up to house, shut er down and toss em the keys. "Its a five speed" I say with a grin since he had not had it past 4th gear and did not know if it had 5 or 6 gears. Soon as the new clutch is in the 80g, we gonna have to go see whose got what. Will keep you posted.
