  • Finally, check out my "Made Over" bike.

Well, It's taken some time, but I finally quit fussing and decided to take a few pictures today. I started right after Christmas on "The Breeze" resto. Here is what I did to her.

    1. Complete disassembly.
    2. Paint - 2000 Chrysler Electric Blue with 1999 Honda champagne metal trim.
    3. New Fork seals
    3. Extensive electrical work (Thanks Ratbyk!)
    4. Randys' Stainless braided brake lines (Thanks Randy!)
    5. Seat pan rebuilt
    6. Seat recovered in seamless material
    7. 2" of foam shaved from seat (I'm 5'7")
    8. Harley fat boy mufflers fabbed on in place of rusted, pitted, factory backfire producers. - replaced all exhaust gaskets
    9. A good polishing (work in progress
    )
    10. Rebuilt both master cylinders

I realize that the emblems on the sidecovers are wrong...anyone care to sell me a pair of "special" emblems?

I thinks she's pretty flashy...what Harley wouldn't like to be smoked by such a fine looking machine, especially with company pipes installed?

and now with out further ado...I give you "The Breeze"

            Breeze

Materi, really super looking effort. You do nice work. May the "Breeze" run long, hard and strong for many years for you. Glad to have been able to help on the electrics. That stuff was the back up for Ratbyk before it moved down the road.
Keep that shiny side up and looking good.

                Drool!

                'Nuff said!
I wish I had taken some pics of Twilite Special when I first bought it in 91. I have seen bikes in salvage yards that looked better. After about 150 or so hours of working into the wee hours, ( I worked 2nd shift at the time) I rolled it out, and it really looked great! I have some pics of the finished product, somewhere. After riding it for 14 years, and 70k miles, it's showing , but it still looks good from 10 feet. Anyway, may the Breeze blow hard and fast.

Hey thanks alot guys. I can't take all the credit, the bike was painted and alot of stuff was figured out by my b-i-l's shop. Since there aren't many bikes like it around here, I was anxious to get those pictures on here where maybe someone would appreciate them. Harley Davidsons are very popular in these parts, and there is getting to be a good number of big metric cruisers around as well. My b-i-l is always tinkering with his VN-1500 and he can hang with me for about two gears now. I have been told there is a guy with a tricked-up fat boy with a built Screaming Eagle engine that is looking for me. I think he wants to bring some honor back to the V-twin crowd...We'll just have to see about that.

Thanks again for all the Kudos,

                        Materi, again, really nice!

H-D's are 'popular' everywhere you go.

Watch those Screamin Eagle conversions, done right with the right combination some of them CAN run with crotch rockets. The trick is to take him on in the twisties and sweepers.

Thanks Marty, I'll take that advice. B-I-L called today and said the guy with the screamin eagle HD found him on the road yesterday and little roll-on match up ensued. Screamin Eagle jumped out ahead about a bikes length, but the Vulcan stayed right there up to about 90 mph at wich point the Vulcan started gaining on him. Screamin Eagle noticed this and immediately backed out of it. When they were stopped, he told B-I-L to tell me that I was next. He's really a pretty cool guy, and the whole town enjoys riding together and ribbing each other...based on my brother-in-laws account, I think I can take him... "The Breeze" has gained quite a reputation in this small town. and it's a little lonely at the top when everyones gunnin' for ya

Oh yeah, I never ride with the "crotch rocket" crowd and they don't mess with me either, exept mutual admiring glances and smiling waves as we pass each other in town. Man...I love this stuff.

Yes it is, and you have the only target!

Go toast a Harley! They taste like chicken.
