  • xs1100 trans Canada tourer model

Have another bike arriving tomorrow supposed to be a full fairing (factory) model called the trans Canada tourer. Not sure what condition parts bike will be in but if you have a wish list e-mail me at Andreashweiss@yahoo.com I am not sure if it is configured as a special or standard. Supposed to be complete and running. So much for cleaning out the garage!!!!

It is a 1981 Yamaha xs11h (standard) set up as a factory tour or dresser. Called the trans Canada tourer. Better shape than I expected. Last year of registration was 1991. Lots of thick dust from sitting in garage. At least the carbs were drained!!! Speedo says 28,600 . Has full fairing and lowers up front and plastic saddle bags. Front fairing a a cig lighter go figure. Pipes are in great condition. Stock exhaust. no holes. Still factory color dark blue with white and yellow pinstrip. Sidecover are perfect .. It also has the extra large gas tank (6+ gal). The 'Venturer' was the US model and the 'Trans Canada' was the Canadian version. This was made only one year, and came only as a fully loaded tour package.

If possible could you send me a photo of the cover? I have an OEM cooler from an XS850 I'll be installing on my MNS and it needs the cover (I'll fabricate one). I'd like to see what the original cover looks like.
          Thanks.

Pat, I too had a cooler from an 850 on my SG, and I could find no way to attach the cover to the cooler, because of the way I had it mounted. If Andreas doesn'y want to split them up, I'll let you have my old cover, and you can see what you can do with it.

Sorry, No digital camera. Oil cooler goes complete as one unit. Please see if anyone else has a picture of the factory oil cooler. Cover is black plastic two screws hold it onto oil cooler frame mount.

Thanks Andreas, all I was wanting was a photo. I wasn't wanting just the one part.

Thank you too John. If you're not going to use it then I'll take it. PM me for info.

If I don't use it I'm sure someone on the XStriples site can use it and I'll pass it along.

                          andreashweiss,

We do have a classified ads section. If you would, please use that for future items for sale. I don't mind you letting guys know it is there or that you are parting a bike out, but listing every part for sale here is not the intention of these forums.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but thats why we created the classifieds, so people looking for parts could find them easier.

Good Luck selling the parts, sounds like you have some nice stuff there.

Gary, to Andreas defense, the classifiieds have not been functioning for over a week, and it seems once they are up, it's only a matter of hours, and they are down again. I had an ad there a while a go, and the classsifieds went down, and when they came back up, my ad was gone, and so were all of his.
At least he can get his message out and keep it out by posting in the forum. I agree that the forums are not the proper place for advertising, but, ya gotta do what ya gotta do...
I'm not trying to bite your head off here, just informing you of what has been happening with the classifieds section.
                            Sincerely,
                            John

This is the first I have heard of the classifieds not functioning...are others having similar experiences? I am not trying to be the heavy here, just want to make sure everybody knows where to find the stuff they need. Thanks for letting me know there is a problem, I will get with the webmaster sometime this week and let him know.
