    Seat

    Would a xs650 seat work on a xs1100sg bike???

I found a seat like the original and very interested, just concerned the seat may not work.

    Look here.

I don't think they will , but you can look up the part number for each bike and find out that way. It's a great site to cross reference part numbersand applications.

I was able to get in, and I checked the P/N's for the seats. They are not the same and will not interchange. The XS750-850 will not swap either. Bummer, huh? There seems to be plenty of the others on ebay.

          no way dammit!

          Hi Sidekick,
my practical experience backs up John's research 100%.
In my garage, an XS11SG with a 'orrible seat & a '84 XS650 with an extra seat in good shape.
Both bikes are mine, I can do with them what I will.
Trust me, the seats DON'T effin' interchange.
Different sizes, nose fittings & hold-downs.
          If I could, I would.
Now I save up for a Saddleskin.

Unable to find what i'm looking for, I spoke with a local upholstery guy. He quoted me $90 and done close to original. Now I'm looking for one of the latch bolts for it. Thanks for the help!

You can get new seats from J C Whitney. They are around $90.00.
They require a little sweat and a lot of cussin but do work. They are no where near as comfortable as the original seat, but lookgood. More attractive than the original. I just did one on my 80G.
