  • canada is calling

i don't know why, but i have had this incredible desire to ride up to canada lately. this is the trip i had all planned out last year until i decided to do the alaska ride at the last minute.

day one, 640 miles: ride from omaha up to winnepeg.

day two, 474 miles: ride from winnepeg to thompson.

day three, 466 miles: ride the gravel road from thompson to gillam (189 miles), get on train to churchill (277 miles).

spend a day in churchill then turn around and come home. and depending on time, maybe take route 10 on the way back instead of 6

    Bon Voyage

    Hi Beechfront,
Budget more time, all you will see with those daily distances is the yellow lines in the middle of the road.
And all you will be looking for is the next gas station.
The distances between gas stations in northern Manitoba is way further that the range of a Special's gas tank.
Good luck riding a top-heavy 600lb bike on the gravel road from Thompson to Gillam too.
    Have a great trip.
