Anybody got one they are willing to part with. I got my new J.C. Whitney seat cover the other day and stripped off the old. To my complete and utter amazement my seat pan is beyond help. All rusted. I know I can glass the side rails and pop rivit on the new cover but when test fitting I put my knee about halfway thu the middle and bent it also. I might be able to glass the whole thing but would rather have a decent pan to start with.

Thanks Randy, I think that is a seat for a special. The bottom is all wrong. From what I've seen on ebay about 80% fit Specials or the 80 up models on the standards. Also folks not in the know think just because its still the same shape as before then they call it a standard (meaning it looks like original). How would you attach the tail piece? There's always a way, figure it out.

If I believe right , That seat on Ebay should work on your standard. That pan looks to be a 79. I'm not too hip with standards, I would compare what's left of your pan to the pics of that one on Ebay.S.R.Czekus

Please help me clarify, folks...do Special seat pans also fit 80-81 standards. On my H, I have an old Russell Day-Long saddle that desperately needs recovering, but the bottom goes straight across like the 78-79 standard seats. It fits SWMBO's F project bike perfectly (and seems to fit the H fine also). I have noticed that the F's side covers go straight across to match the seat, but the H's covers slope down to fit a seat that comes down like a Special. Does someone in the know have an answer?Tom Hunt

Pathfinder,
I have a 79 or 80 model seat in the attic that you are welcome to. I don't remember if the attachment bolts are on the seat but the rest of the seat is there.
