  • With A Tear In My Eye

Last October when I rode the "Temptress" (ZX11 Ninja) home for the first time a neighbor spied me. He wasn't long in booting it over to my place to have a look at it. I did not know until then but he used to have 900 Kawi. After looking at the Kawi he wants to know what I'm going to do with Ratbyk. Tell him nothing, it is just part of the fleet.
Well every month since he has come over trying to talk me into selling him the Rat. No deal, I'm keeping it. Yesterday he showed up with 20 crisp new $100.00 bills. Sorry to say, he now owns the Ratbyk. It has gone to a good home with a garage to park it in. It is close enough to keep track of and who knows, maybe I have a new riding buddy. Might be awhile though. I cleaned him out. No $ yet to buy his insurance. Claims he is going to clean it all up. I thought it was pretty clean when he left. Maybe he can see dirt where I couldn't.
Hope you let me still come to XS rallies! See you in Reno/ Lake Tahoe? in Sept.

Sorry you had to sell, but sounds like you got twenty hundred dollar bills to dry your tears. Can't blame you.

Heck ya, you had BETTER come to the Rallies. I never got a chance to see The Rat.
You might just have to bring the neighbor too.

        Bye Bye Rat

M/C insurance in Canada is VERY! expensive. It was going to cost me $591. for registration and 1 mil worth of liability insurance for the year. With 2 other bikes already insured I could not justify to my SWMBO (or myself) plating and insuring another one. That is the main reason Ratbyk is gone. I know that you can't park one of these and forget about it. They must be run on a very regular way or things Snafu on them.
Most of my pile of spares went to; Except, I have a good speedo, only about 12,000 km on it. (Turn your bike into a teenager) Also almost a complete set of electrics for a 78-79 XS standard. Black box, headlight relays, solenoid, self canceling signal relay, tach etc. Anyone need any electrics let me know. I'm open to offers.

            Hey,

We all do what we think is right, besides it's not like you traded it for a golf cart or something, your knees will still be in the breeze. I for one, still look forward to your insightful comments and advice on this forum.

Now about those electrics, etc. I have a 79sf, the turn signals quit working, and the speedo is making sick noises. Will the speedo and electrics work on a special? How much for the electrical lot and the speedo? PM me if you'd rather.

            Thank you,

            Keith
