  • Well Oiled Machine . . . Lost . . .

There's a special kind of hell for thieves . . . especially motorcycle thieves.

Those that have been keeping up know that I sold Well Oiled Machine to my friend Dean when I got the Valk.

Dean sold it to a friend of my friend Ron when Dean got the 'wing.

Ron's friend had some sort of problem with it on I-30 between Dallas and Shreveport and had to leave it to get assistance. When they got back it was gone.

I rebuilt that unique machine from the ground up. Even though she had passed on to other hands, I was glad to see they were hands that cared and would ride her.

I'd better never see someone with that bike...........

Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope the &^%$ that nabbed her, rides down the highway at mach speed and XSpieriences a high speed wobble. Not to say I'd like to see the bike get banged up, but banged up parts don't sell very good on Ebay. I'll keep an eye out as I'm on Ebay all the time.

          Well Oiled Machine

I'll surely keep an eye open for it, and I'm surfing ebay quite a bit. If any of us should happen to see a rash of MS parts on ebay, that may be a clue. Especially if the seller is in the region between DFW and S'port. If we should happen to see some, make sure you ask the seller what year the bike is and then ask for the VIN to verify the year and model. Dan, do you know, or can you find out what the VIN is and what the mileage was?
What brand of pipes did you install on it , Dan? Are they Mac, or Jardine? Foster Child has what appears to be the same pipes.

            Back to the trend

Dan ... sorry to here about your baby. If i see it I hope I "ain't armed". Being a native Texan we have a bad habit of shootin' first and askin' questions later...

But back to the original idea of parting out XS11s. I too am saddened when I see one going down. It's really kinda weird. I guess some sort of nostalgic sickness many of us suffer.

I have seen several in the past few months I wanted to save but feared a divorce . I did however manage to snag Kong from the jaws of the junker.

There must stil be quite a few out there running though. TKAT told me last week he had sold a total of 1400 fork braces for the 1100. And I see way more 11s without TKATs than with.

But it gives me night sweats about the demise of the great bike...

At times I feel like the little kid on the spooky movie...

            I see.......... dead elevens

                  hello Dragonrider,

Those of us, of the XSive, all across the country, will be looking for "well oiled machine" Let's just hope for it's safe return !

                    Any news?
There seem to be quite a few parts on www.ebay.de originating from the US on ebay lately.
                    Just a thaught.
Anyway... I put an alarm system on mine. Not that I think it would help much, but makes me feel better anyway.
Hope the bike turnes up in one piece... unlike the guys who nabbed it.
A friend found his XJ650 stolen one day from his building. A few of them had their bikes in a locked room in an apartment building. They broke the lock on a 1991 ZXR750, but left it there, tackled with another bike, but his was gone. The cops told him about a month later they've found the bike. Well, not exactly they. A guy from a near-by building called them to find the owner to move it because the bike was left near their stairway and was in the way. They tried to hot-wire it, but were unsuccessfull. What a bunch of dopes! His locks were broken too.
Another time another friend had his BMW R1100R stolen (the only one registered in this country... the rest were R1150R). I found it parked in front of a construction site while looking for a parking space. Sidebags were gone, locks broken, but it was locked with a disc lock . The guy who stole it was afraid it would get stolen again. Kinda funny seing cops hacksaw thru the lock. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to ride once in a while through those parts and keep the eyes open.
