  • My first REAL ride on an XS

After riding on the back of one for years now, I finally had the chance to take an XS for a decent ride usually saved for my FJ. It took me a bit getting used to riding upright and not leaning over the gas tank, but after a couple of miles, it worked out great!
I was surprised at how well it handled and how smooth the ride was... I was almost more comfortable in the twisties on the XS than I am on my own bike.
Converted to a full fledge XSive? No... but I think the Foster Child might have found a home.

I don't think we'll be able to make that one, Dan. I have to work on Saturdays, and we have three young kids. We are hoping that our daughters can have a sleepover at a friends house, and our son could stay at some neighbors for the night, on the 15th of April. We both are hoping to make the ride in Lufkin. I am going to take a vacation day on the 16th so I can attend the ride. I am on vacation the week before the ride, so we are planning on going up to Maine to see my family. I have xswilly working on making sure all the snow is gone by then. We'll be back on Tuesday, and then head to Lufkin on Friday.

I reserve visitation rights and "time alone". That one was way to easy to get going! Glad it is back on the pavement.

OOOOPS. I was thinking FJ and wrote XJ excuuuussse me. My humble apology's to the XJ riders. I think now she has the message correctly. All you need to do is the big bore, jet the carbs etc etc Unless of course you wish to contribute another one to my museum

Let's see if I have this right...

FJ fast, XS dependable, FJ fast, XS dependable
Did I get it this time?

webbcraft2150 we appreciate your contribution to the stable and I don't think there will be any problem with visitation.... once the FJ is back on the road.

As for the big bore and jetting the carbs... the FJ is next in line for that treatment...
John better be careful too... I'm learning enough through all of this, I might be able to do it myself... some day.

Until then... riding an XS isn't too bad, although I have to admit being sore in different places than usual.
