  • Why is it easier to turn to the left?

I found this article that says why it's easier to turn left on a cycle. One reason noted is that your right arm is usually stronger and you use it to push the handle bar to make a left turn. Obviously these egg-heads don't know about counter stearing.

I don't know. It could be because we drive on the right side of the road, Or, most Americans are right handed. Mabe some of or brethren from Austailia or england can chime in and let us know if it's eisier to turn to the left or right.

I was always told that it is the "crown" in the road. To turn right you're coming off the crown, so the front wheel has to lean further to reach the same contact point on the tire. To turn left, is the opposite.

If it's from Oz it's just propaganda! Don't believe any of it!

Yeah, the bone heads got most of that all wrong. Even the part about the centripital force is wrong. But then you should believe this especially if the BS is from folks who have higher education titles after their name.

I think the part about the radius of the left and right turns does have some merrit, but the rest is mostly hokum, I think.

Guess when the snow melts I will have to turn left and 'push down' with my right foot so I don't spin off the edge of the world....

Course, the guy asking the silly question might just have a bent frame...
