There is a Yamaha Dealer in Pompano I have got some parts for my XS. On Ebay there were a few gaskets for sale. Some people list them as valve cover gaskets and the lesser educated seem to call them Head cover gaskets.

I have some Yamabond. I can lend you some so you can cover the gasket for a temp fix. We can take the vave cover loose and coat it with some yamabond until you get your gasket.

When you do the gasket, you will need a scraper to get all of the old gasket off.

thanks! I will be riding over, I might be a bit after 6, though, maybe as late as 620... I forgot I have a student until 5pm, then I have to go home and get the bike (and seat!)
