  • 79=80?

Hi guys, I am bidding on a dressed 80 XS1100, and hoping the fairing, bags, seat, etc etc will ft my 79... what's the verdict? the 80 is not in running condition...

Should bolt right up. There weren't a whole bunch of changes to the frame from those two years.

Then again, if you watch big Paul and little Paulie and the rest of the boys , you can fit just about anything onto pretty much anything else if you set your mind to it...

In 1980 the TCI unit was moved to under the center of the seat. You can put a later seat on an earlier bike but not the other way round without modifications to the seat or where the TCI box mounts.

I am infected! I saw that bike with all the accessories I hope to get, and I bit... fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective , I was outbid by $600! The search goes on...

                Infected

Started with one 81 RH, now have two of those and two 80 model 850's. Suppose it is better for me than alcohol and drugs?
