    Welcome Sandgroper

I run a set of 78/79 carbs on a 81 xs1100RH, easier to tune and the diaphragms are cheaper, about $100 a piece from the local dealer, versus approx $130 for later style carbs. Pod filters, 42.5 pilot jets and 112.5 mains with a slip on 4/1 system, runs sweet, pulls to past 180. Good to get some support to deal with the cheeky Kiwi (Pggg, not really), good site, wecome.

Gotta love that aussie humor. Don't have a clue what it means but saying it out loud sounds funny...

        Welcome aussie 'r'!

You might try Merriam Cycle . It seams that they have parts for everything. I also read his book he wrote about the XS1100's. XS Eleven Heaven

            Carb Diaphragms

If you want new ones - and can bring yourself to deal with the other side of the world..... these guys supplied mine.

Otherwise there are a lot of posts over the last couple of years on the use of sealant and the like to fix tears in the carb diaphagms.

Think someone has fabricated manifolds and fitted 1200 Suzuki Bandit carbs too - to good effect

              Oops

Sorry, checked the price the sales bloke gave me for diaphragms, $118 for H, $133 for F. Try an American site called PartsNmore.com they have a listing for them. Alternately, I heard of a liqiud rubber in a tube that may work.

                    Diaphragms

partsnmore.com list them for $64 US. Even after exchange rate and shipping that has still got to be cheaper than buying in Oz.
