    over here in the uk we have a monthly mag called classic motorcycle mechanics,the next one is due out or around the 16th feb.In this issue the xs1100 is put up against the laverda jota,the xs comes out on top i think check out to see if you get it in the states.goi8ng by some of the letters that are sent in to the mag i think you can get it over the pond.

      XS11 in Classic Mechanics

      This is about the third time the magazine has featured XS1100's. Anorak me probably has copies of the last two times kicking around the house somewhere....

        Issue 195 January 2004 I think has a road test of the XS11.

          I had just purchased a 1979 Laverda Jota 1000 when I was exposed to my first XS11. Never got a chance to race one. I am sure the 11 would smoke it in the 1/4 mile. Not sure about top end though. I hit an observed 147mph on my Jota on a cool summer morning about 6am. Unfortunealy it was observed by the New Mexico State Police. That one set me back $300 + court costs, alot of bucks back then!!!!
