For the past few years I have decided that if there is a job I dont have the tools for I will just by them in replace of the money I would spend to have it done by some one else. Other than machining and transmission, you will spend less. Plus, when its done you still have the tools and the knowledge. With a knowledge base like this, you really have no excuse not to at least give it a try. The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.
