feeling bad for having not started either bike for the last month - i decided to take them each for a quick ride and get them warmed up.

even with two pair of gloves on it didn't take much to feel it (or not feel it) in the fingers.

17's the coldest I've driven in. Coveralls and a thick jacket have done the job so far. My fingers get cold though!!

On the other hand, we have been having near record temps here on Colorado's Western slope. Took the XJ out for a spin on Saturday (high temps in low 50s, roads clear) then Sunday trailered my old V-Max snowmobile up to around 7,500 foot elevation to a trail head (West Elk Creek) and put some time in on the trails. Snow is several feet deep up there.

Odd bit of info...Genuine Mikuni jets for my snowmobile (VMX 38 carbs) are only $3.25 each at the local Ski-Do dealer, some places have them for $2.50 each. Currently running #220s, Yamaha recommends #200s for elevations 8,000 - 10,000 feet. Was running #280s in Wisconsin. Sure wish I could fuel inject that sled!

If anyone has a newer ('96 and up) snowmobile they woul sell for a reasonable price, let me know. My trusy '86 is getting a little long in the tooth....

Brrr indeed...
Took my 78E for a spin to a friends house.... -4 centigrade.
Anyway.... learnt that his dog was gone... Been sick for a while (doggie). Gonna miss that rotweiler. The friendliest doggie I ever knew.
