    Hey John,

I brought it back home after over 2 weeks of it just sitting there at work! Fedex never came looking for it! I got a call from DELL at work, got my heart pumping a bit, until I found that they were just trying to sell me an extended warranty on the Original Laptop that I purchased!

I'm going to take it back out of the box tomorrow and fire it up. I had registered with Microsoft the one I'm typing on now in my wife's name, and also the Dell Media software.

I'll have to register the new one for WinXP to work. Not sure how I'll handle the Dell Media software?

It'll make a nice early birthday present to me(Feb. 16).

Yeah, from your description in your PM, you're right, sorry I didn't try!!! I do plan on making it to a Texsive Rally, but probably not this year, my best friend lives in San Angelo, so I'll be able to make the rally, and visit him in the same trip! Maybe I'll get to play on some dirt bikes for a chance, always wanted to, just never got the opportunity!

          T.C.,

If you'd rather not register the machine to get it to work, You can wipe it. I've got a copy of MS WIN 2000 Professional that I got from MS in 2000 as a free pre-rollout trial version.

MS distributed it to their commercial NT4.0 end users, as a preview before they upgraded to Win2K. The version title is Build 2195FREE

The only things missing form this version is WIN2K Service Pak 4 and IE6, which you download from MS for free. Been using it for 4 years without problems, and, unlike XP, MS does not require registering.

Let me know if you want a copy.
