  • help with ebay!!!

hi there i'm in england (gutted) all the goodies for my bike are on ebay, all the goodies i really really want the sellers wont send internationall.

i have a couple of friends who have helped but its a real drag etc and i hate putting people out

what im looking for is a friend on here that i can buy stuff off ebay and send to somebodys address (in the usa) then i pay you paypal to send it on to me once you get it

all you have to do is put my address on it and forward it

this calls for a trip to the post office for you obviousely and if theres anything i can do to repay you i will try and do it

i can only see me wanting up to 10 items in this way and would try and combine 3 at a time so 3 trips hopefully

but you never know whats going to turn up so i want somebody easy going who i can just send stuff to as and when then email to say expect it to come

i am desperate and i do feel cheeky but somebody must have a heart especially an xs bloke .

all id want is you to keep the postage ticket as proof you sent it

can any body help me??? will anybody help me????

thanx for reading this and i hope i find somebody (at the end of the day the parts arn't to great a value ,im looking at levers starter buttons ,switch gear, oil coolers ,seats ,sissy bars ,engine bars, speedo cowls, brake pads, caliper and petcock kits etc etc)

I can give you a hand. I've shipped internationally before, have the customs forms here on my desk. This can get expensive, though, depending on how quickly you want the part. Just shipped a 5 pound box to Switzerland, 4 - 10 day delivery, cost was around $23.00 US. Surface is cheaper but can take weeks. If you want to go this way I will help you out. I normally use US Post Office, have also used FedX and UPS, but have had more customs problems with them, but your choice.

cheers scoobes that is great!! used to use find a part and find bits i didnt want!!! or wrong models etc!! ebay u can see condition,i gave up ringing around used to spend hours gettin nowhere fast!!!

gwent is the next county from me and i know most of it inside out(never heard of that breakers tho) will look them up!!!

hi jerry thanx so much ,i like ups surface mail for hevy stuff
4-10 week delivery!!! a sissy bar cost me $50 post i think

          small stuff i air mail

it all depends with customs the value you put on it anything over $32 dollars id have to pay extra 20 % i think roughly

any way the price of that my dearest thing i'd order would be about $100 and then i wouldnt be too concerned so it can be marked gift or $25 dollars you know

i wouldnt want you stressed by anything ,i pay pay pal for the postage before you post it on then you put my address on it after taking the reciept out of the parcel from who ever sent it
mark it gift (unless you feel it should be down the line)

you post it and keep the ticket( i'd have to trust you ,which i'm willing to do) and i wouldnt get on your bak or anything if it never turned up as long as you have the ticket

i wouldnt want the parts insured or anything theyre only odds and sodds and 10 a peeny really so i'm willing to take a gamble

like i say i dont want to put anyone out so have a think and let me know jerry (i have had about 20 things from the states and understand all set baks and delays and costs etc )

i will try and make it up to you somehow, maybe buy you a part you need or something you know for your trouble

its up to you im easy going see you

I've come across the 'ships only to USA' on a few items I was interested in too, and I'm only about 4 hours north of the border in western Canada. I was curious what the problem might be till I found this explanation in an Ebay seller's ad:

            "EXPLANATION FOR INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS

To you international bidders, I sincerely apologize for not offering service to you at this time and do feel you deserve an explanation. The United States Postal Service classifies me as a "Known Shipper" and picks up all my parcels destined for USA addresses. For international shipments, they require me to carry the parcel to a post office and do the transaction there. This can be very time consuming and that is the problem. I just don't have the time to stand in line at a post office behind a few elderly patrons, one doing an address change and another inquiring about a lost pension check and maybe a third wanting to mail a shirt to her grandson, but who can't decide which level of service to choose. Don't forget, the shirt is still unpackaged at this point and all this with a clerk who is moving at a bit less than warp speed. I am confident you will understand and I again apologize for not being able to serve you at this time. "

Makes a lot of sense when it is explained this way....

oh yer understand that part totally we got that prob over here
can be a real nightmare specially on tax day for cars and bikes as well

i thought it would be more to do with people not understanding postage and import taxes (buyers) not sellers

              etc etc etc

Would be glad to help our international members. No difficulty for me, I work about 2 blocks from the Post Office and they are used to seeing me. I can ship whatever you want, individual parts or wait for all parts, after all, you will be paying the postage!

My thought is that you will have to pay shipping from the seller to me, and I will ship the parts and let you know the cost, or let you know first, what ever works for you. I have a PayPal account (jerryfields@mac.com) and you could pay me back for the shipping through PayPal. Remember the British Pound is worth more than our Dollar; rates will be quoted in US Dollars. Currently 1 Pound = approximately $1.78 US Dollars. (Divide the cost by $1.78 to get the cost in Pounds.) Our dollar is worth more than the Canadian Dollar, so a coversion would also have to be made. Last I heard the Dollar was worth about $1.48 Canadian, but it has been a while since I checked....

Our US Postal Department has a web page that I use to get international shipping rates and delivery times. Site is at:

                http://www.usps.com/global/deliveryoptions.htm

You can use this to calculate what the international shipping rates would be. My address is:

                Jerry Fields
                334 W.24th Place
                Rifle, CO 81650
(Last number is our Zip Code. It is used to sort mail by regions / cities. Some cities have multiple Zip codes.)

I'ld be glad to help out any way I can. There are 2 customs forms plus various international flat rates. (Flat rates are great. Anything you can fit into the envelope, up to a couple pounds, goes for 1 price.) If you have questions let me know and I'll try to answer them.
