XJ fork brace

Does anybody know if a fork brace for the XJ will fit an 80 Special?

The XJ brace is similar to the Special, but has a higher riser to clear the XJ fender. The 'cut' or angle on the inside (fender side) of the risers are more radical than the Special. The brace should fit, but will raise above the fender farther than it does above the XJ fender, so there may be a cosmetic issue. The cross-brace is a bit different on the XJ, has an extra relief machined into the bottom for additional fender clearance. Tkat and I looked at this at the Bozeman rally, and Tkat indicated the relief is not really necessary. Anyway, it is one more difference between the XJ and Special braces.
