Simply put, I want a newer bike. I love the XS, but swmbo says if I want another toy, I have to lose a toy, so the XS is available.
1981 Midnight Special, great shape, ride anywhere, I regularly do 200 mile rides with the only complaint stopping for gas. There is a burp at around 2000 rpm, but Robert Reil says that is in the transition from the air to main jets. It has not stopped me from riding. Robert has seen the bike, he lives a few miles away. I will deliver approximately 150 miles, or if anyone is coming down for the rally at TWO and wants to take a look, I will probably be there for part of the day. Fair tires, smallish bags, Maier fairing, backrest, Kerker, Standard bar, and I have a center stand.
All this for $1500. I have about $2k in the bike.
I will miss the bike, and this august body.
