  • all over but the crying

well kids i dropped my maxim off with its new owner today, closing a brief but interesting chapter. my pops turned 73 last saturday and i wanted to buy him a riding garden tractor for his birthday. selling the maxim provided the financial means for me to do so. i wrestled with it, but in the end doing something for him was worth far more to me than the bike. i still have my wing and have an eye on an older xs. so to everyone in the group:

see ya in the funny papers!!

    Hey there Daryl,

That was a fine ride you had there, sorry you had to let it go, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm sure you told the new owner about us!?

Of course after all the fine work you put into it, there shouldn't be much he/she'll need to ask about for quite a while, eh!?

Take care!! Tell pops, happy b'day!

You should Never get rid of an XS11. Should have cut it up and Made a riding mower out of it. Front Deck, 2 wheels in the front 1 wheel in the back.
But since your father is over 70, got to put a trottle shop on it (for saftey reasons).

Good luck getting your older XS.

Hope to hear from you again someday.

          Been there,

          done that.
Selling off your bike to buy the old man a super birthday gift is a mitzvah but I sold my '74 BMW R90 to finance my daughter's college fees. Then she dropped out at mid-term. That was a while back and I have forgiven her since but I will keep on whining about it. To her, to my family & friends, to people I meet in the street - - -
