  • Rare X-perimental Xs 1100

    Hello,

Sit down and check this out...
I found the Machine that Yamaha based the design of the XS 1100 on.

NO MATTER what Tony says this is the "REAL McCOY"
Yamaha simply increased the engine displacement...and added bigger wheels-n-tires (naturally)

This will clarify any doubts about the origin of the machine you own today.

Denny told me that he saw one of these while on duty in Japan!

NO MATTER what anybody tells you...just look and you will see several similarities between this machine and YOUR XS 1100...

Yamaha purchased the 'rights' to this Motorcycle in the fall of '74 and it took several years to 'perfect' the design...

Check out what the owners manual says about 'top speed' and dig the crazy X-tras they gave you!

Motorcycling must have been tough in 1966...HUH, KEN?

DON'T be fooled by imitations...THIS IS THE ORIGINAL XS 1100!

You can see this AWESOME machine at:

And Tony...What can you say about that?
    Here's the PROOF!

                THE REAL McCoy...

                WELL,
                How was History class?...kiddies...

Some of you 'got it' and others need to keep studying...

I will list (some) of the similarities...and these are the 'clinchers'

                1. Two mirrors
                2. Two wheels
                3. 'Clustered' dash
                4. Passenger grab rail
                5. Front and rear blinkers
                6. X-tremely powerful engine
                7. Storage compartment
                8. Tool kit
                9. Kick start (early XS)
                10. AND THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM (that proves without a DOUBT) this is the 'Granddaddy' of our beloved XS's: "Extra fuel shutoff parts!"

TO THIS DAY Yamaha XS 1100s can have leaky petcocks!

Say what you will...to me (and many others ) THIS is the 'PROOF'
that we've all searched so long for

And from some of the stories that the old timers used to tell...(and still do)...I'll bet there was one bottle to carry spare two stroke oil in...and another to oil the guy who was going 60+mph on a 'Rabbit' in 1966!

"Stay off my back, or I will attack...and you don't want that"

The 1962 Honda 250 Hawk had a one unit tack and speedo with a couple idiot lights and all bikes have leaky petcocks when they get old. It's like the prostate of motorcycles... ;o)

                        More than enough

                        Hi,

All that (and more) may be true about other motorcycles...but how many gave you 'extra fuel shut-off parts' WITH THE BIKE!

This is kinda' like those 'Virgin Marys' sightings on windows and road signs...some look and 'see' it...others can stare for hours...and see NOTHING

If you area 'True' believer...and have a 'pure' heart...then when you look...you'll 'see' it....if you are a 'skeptic' and have a 'closed mind' then you will never 'see' it...

So if you DO NOT see your machine hiding under those 'funky' cowlings...if the sound of that 'whisper quiet' 2oocc 11hp engine doesn't make you think of 'cruising speeds'...if the smell of leaking gas doesn't bring it back...
Then you are either a 'non-believer'...or you've 'lost it'...and you need to buy a '74 Datsun
In fact...you should probably trade your XS for it!

And for all you 'believers' out there...just keep the faith...and God will deal with the 'non-believers'
                        (sorry, Tony )

I'm surprised that you didn't say the 11 horsepower was the inspiration of the XS11 designation.

And yes I do have a Datsun but it’s a 1973, the last year model 240Z. You saw it at DennyZ’s place. I drove it up there because my Mongrel was still a few days from being road worthy and I didn’t want to test drive it on a 400 mile round trip. As cages go, it's as cool as Japanese cars ever got.
