  • Aftermarket Headlight.

    Hello Guys
I am a new member here, I just got my first XS 1100 Midnight Special a couple of days ago. It runs, but needs lots of cosmetic work. I am missing all turnsignals and the headlight also. Does anyone know where to find a replacement headlight and turnsignals? I have seen a few pictures of how this bike actually looked like when it was new, and some pictures showes it with round turnsignals, and other with rectangular ones, wich one is the original? I have searched Ebay, JCWhitney and other places for a headlight, but without luck so far. My bike is a 1980 with only 5000 miles on it.

The original headlight, gauges, and signals on the Specials were all roound. Interestingly, the original mirrors were rectangular. It may take a bit of patience, and perhaps deep pockets, but all of this stuff comes up on Ebay once in a while. Your post here might also scare up some parts sitting in somebody's shed looking for a new home.

Thanx for the info Ken, I found some after market turn signals at a local MC shop, but they where chromed, I bet the ones for the Midnight Special was black! I also forgot to ask the size of the headlight bucket, is it a 7 inch? And did the light have a "Gold" ring, or just black? Also the rear shocks is very rusted, any info on how to get replacement for them? Where the springs black or chromed?

      This is my new bike.

I've always loved the look of those bikes! I'd swap my XJ for one in a heartbeat.
