Well you would figure that I would leave well enough alone. SWMBO was not to happy cauz she wanted to ride yesterday BUT MIYAMI and I had other plans.
I just got MIYAMI back together and she's runnin good. Had a intermitten hesitation ( mainly going around corners or letting off the throttle and then accelerating slowly ) So I decided to pull the pickup coil cover and do an OHMs check on the pickup coil wires. Yep. Theirs a problem. Touching the advance, I lost all connection. Checked both pick ups, Yep, same thing. Pulled the pickups off and tugged on the wire just a little bit and Yep, 2 wires broken in one spot and 1 wire broken in two spots. Well I cut the wires were they were broken. Found some old automotive wire layin around and commenced to soldering everything back together. ( brass wire that resembles fine hair is not easy to solder ) IT WORKED. Needless to say, this is only a temp fix. Gotta buy the pickup coil harness and replace it but I think that it will last for awhile. Well to make matters worse, I figured that, well, since the bike is being worked on and the day is shot to %ell. I might just as well pull the carbs and check the floats. They were off. They were at almost 30mm. Clymers says 25.7+/- 1mm. I set them at 26mm. I also decided to change and rerought some fuel lines to have a little more room and not have to deal with pinched lines.
For some reason or another, Everything worked Like it's supposed to. Thanks to the info here on this forum. I would have never thought about checking the wires on the pickup coils.
