I haven't had a chance to let everyone know but, I have gone completely crazy and opened a motorcycle shop in Richmond, VA.

It is called Renegade Choppers. We are having a Grand Opening party tommorow. You know Food a bike show, 50 50 drawing and a poker run at the end.

If any of you are available to come down tommorow that would be great. It would be nice to not be the only XSive in a crowd of Harley's. In my shop all bikes and Bikers are welcome.

It'll be awhile. Over last weekend I rode the Mongrel 310 miles south to Yreka, CA to meet up with my cousins on a river rafting trip. I got home very late monday night and I'm still sore.

At a minimum the seat has to go before I take another long trip on that bike. I've been hording a set of footboards with forward controls and I'm thinking very serious about mounting them this week.

I've never been too keen on the "cruiser/ HD" look but to each his own.
When my wife bought her 1100 Virago I took it out for a ride and my 1st impression was the riding position.
The Virago has the footpegs out in front of the rider ala forward controls. This forces all your weight into the seat and to the back. For short jaunts this isn't too bad on my lower back but it quickly got my arms tired pulling me forward (wife felt the same thing and has since bought a drivers backrest). With feet forward there is no way to 'stand' or take weight off the seat as when going over a large bump or hole. Also not as easy to shift weight side to side for 'spirited' riding.
Again this is just my impression of that riding position and everyone should set their bike to 'what's comfortable / has the look' that they want.

This is more the touring look than cruiser style. I'm 6'5" and I need more room to stretch out on long rides. I never stand on the pegs anyway so the footboards aren't taking anything away from me there. It's also going to get a full fanny supporting seat. I'm not going for long range comfort on this one.

On the other hand I'm going to fix up my 79 Standard with low bars in semi-sportbike style. I'm to old and arthritic to ride a real sport bike.
