  • MIYAMI's alive

Just an update on MIYAMI. She alive and recovering great I redid the valve adjustments on the intake vales, the exaust didn't need adjustments, Replace the steering head races and bearings,
Resunk up the carbs. resoldered some of the wireing in the dash/headlamp harness, Drilled out and retaped two bolts that were broken off in the head, Polished up the valve cover. Gonna drop the oil out today and also change the middle and final drive oils as well I'll post some pics when I get a chance. ( need batteries for camera ) I am having a problem though, I'll post it in the XS talk only page.

    MIYAMI's portrait

Here is a pic of MIYAMI. She's ready to ride. Just needs a little bit of detailing and polishing. The cracks and scratches in the saddlebags I'm not going to worry about cauz they don't leak. Anyway, I hope that the pics make it through to the thread. I'm not to computer savy so swmbo's helping me out here.

          I figured it out

I think I figured out how to post pics. This is a good thing being I'm as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to computers. and to think that I work in the communications business. Anyway, It sure feels good to be back in the saddle. Took her out yesterday for about 75 miles or so to make sure she's gonna do what she's supposed to do. Not bad but still need a little bit of tweein and fine tuning. I should have that done by next weekend then it'll be all about cleaning, polishing and detail work.

              MIYAMI update

Well I screwed up on the carb syncro. but now it's correct. gotta have the pilot jets adjusted correctlly BEFORE ya go to sync em up. Guess it goes to show ya that even an XSpierienced gear head can screw up. Anyway on the lighter side. Here are some more pics. Started to polish up the pickup coil cover and got a little carried away. Now, dam near the whole thing is shiny, even the lower fork tubes ( darn me anyway ) It's all a good thing. Here in Sioux Falls, tonight we have Hot Harley Nights. Well I don't know about Hogly's, but Yami is gonna be their showing off to the rest of the biker community that even at 25 years old, she still looks kinda good. I'll take some pics of the Down Town get together with Miyami in the middle of it all. Till then, Gotta ride
