Marty, let us know what you need and we'll try to help. Some of the bits cost more to ship than they cost us! I know there were some things built differently for the EU market, but if you can put up with the Brits they have a pretty good site. I know the EU got one bike I'd like to get a swing arn assembly from, I just need to find the model again. One of the UK owners used it on his XS and it seems like a nice upgrade for the '78 I'm just starting on.

Yeah, you guys are a good lot. Had the chance to meet up with two owners years ago when I was at the RAL for a week for work. I know One owner passed about two years later. Still think about him now and then, as it was too wet to ride, so we just went for a pint in the cage.

What's RAL? It could have been Brian that you met.

It was Brian, and the RAL is the Rutherford Appleton Lab, the UK version of our Los Alamos National lab. I used to put ICs into neutron beams for work.

Brian started the UK forum and even today members remember him with fondness. He went way too early. When it was our turn to hold the European Rally we had a lifesize cardboard cut out of him stood at the bar all weekend.

82 years old. Got my 79 special in 1988, paid $600. Rode it all over the USA until 2002, till the first gear went out. Then found a 79 standard for $500, just needed pick up wires repaired. Been riding it ever since. First bike was a 38 Indian 4 cyl, 14 years old, had several Indians and Harleys over the years. Stopped riding for a few years, then a pal gave me a 350 Honda, then got a 72 Kaw 750 2 stroke, then the Yammies.
