  • Got an Itch

To do something with the XS. But, don't really know what. Gotta replace the exhaust again with another set of standard pipes I got of eBay the other year. Engine got rebuilt last year. Carbs will need to come off again in the Spring for a good clean & sync. I dunno, maybe that's enough. I sure do miss the good days on this forum when we were all active, having fun. Nobody has heard from Steve or TC, ehh? I see a few of us onnthe FB group.

Not seen anything from TC for quite a while. He was super helpful to me when I got my 2nd F, when I was having carb issues. I think the site has had a lot of log-in issues, and maybe some members can't use the site. FB is ok, but I prefer this site, as it seems for 'old-school'.

I'll second your statement on TC. He was kind enough to send me his print for the S.O.F.A. when I wanted to make my own, and even passed me some of his tips for the machining process. He stayed in contact with me through the whole thing, I can't sing his praises loud enough. I've made a few posts recently about some work I'm planning on, and found the help I needed, but as you guys said, there doesn't seem to be the traffic there used to be. I look at the member birthdays when I'm on the site, seems most of the ages are "up there", as is mine. Times change, people come and go, I guess.

TC has more pressing issues. We haven't seen the last of him. Crazy Steve got a woman and moved on. He left us a lot of good stuff.

The forum here is in very bad shape. I expect it to disappear at any time. Our hobby isn't dead. I'm in the XS650 hobby and XS650.com is very busy. It's the same bunch of guys with different names. The difference is the forum is up to date.

I have two XS1100SG junkers. I hope to put together one bike from them, but I'll deviate from stock wherever it pleases me. XS650 is up at bat right now.

        Happy holidays, everyone!

I have an 'SF barn find with nothing more than rotted exhaust I'd like to rebuild in the next coming years.

The repair and mod sections are still up and running! I'm going to be working on my SF as soon as I get rid of more boxes that are taking up my man cave. After that I plan on putting the '78 engine back together, and will try and get it done for the 2021 Quail show in Carmel Valley, CA.

Yeah, there's always FB but those guys are mostly hacksaw artists.

If you need anything Marty, I have a garage full of parts ( mostly mechanical and chassis ) and a couple titled frames. Let me know, you're not that far away.
