    Never too old to ride?

    Mom was at our house after the annual family reunion last week.

    She just turned 86.

    I can't believe she requested a motorcycle ride. Dad passed away in 2000, and he never rode. Her interest is surprising.

    I obliged on the XS11SF. Getting her on and off safely was a challenge.

    I wish Louann had been outside so I would have a picture. It was a fun experience.

    Maybe Mom will ask again when Nick and I drop by her home after the VYR rally. Imagine an 86 year old woman on the back of the Vmax!

          Wow!!! Hats-Off (or Helmets-Off) to Mom, at 86 years young. She sounds amazing!

              Hi Radio,
              I just turned 82. "lost my bottle" for solo riding but still run a sidecar outfit around the city. Which meant the XS11 hardly ever got above 3rd gear.
              Now the chair gets hauled by my '84 XS650 which'll at least get into 5th on the 60kph streets.

                      I just turned 81, and still ride my 79 XS11 without training wheels. My 13 YO son rides with me. He will soon be learning how to handle the XS 11.

                          Hey Rover .... amazing. I hope that I am so blessed that (1) I reach 81 (and beyond), (2) that I am still able to ride like you do at that age, and (3) my 79' XS11 Special is still running. I have been riding (Yamaha) for almost 44 years, and I have had my Special for around 32 years, but I still have 18 years to go to reach your lofty level.

                          Keep riding; stay young and healthy. It is good to hear that its possible.
