Garrett those pics of your wreck are heartbreaking...
My Maxim I bought brand new as a leftover model in March of 1983..Kept it nearly 30 yrs..In the pic above in 2009..I had just come back from a fellow XSive up in Ontario who actually did the engine detailing as you see it...prior to that it was fugly..clear coat was faded and peeling and I never really cared for the black and silver on the engine...
Cannot believe i ever let that go...1980 XS650G Special-Two

I don’t know, the lump of twisted broken parts and the look on my son’s face after hauling my wreck away could be considered art. I know I see something poetic about it anyway.79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)

Lol, yeah that was me. 10 weeks off, a broken knee, sternum, stitches in both legs, a concussion, a little less skin on my hands and a not so free helicopter ride and I’m fine. Less my clothes,my helmet and my 20 year old leather they cut off me and my pride. I always felt protected by some unseen force....up until now. Now I guess I’m just lucky. That was a few years age. I took a year off, built another xs and got a full summer of riding last year.
