  • New to sx11 bikes and site

Just got introduced to sx1100specials big move from 550s etc. Not scary enough learnig a new bike want to try a hack this summer also see a lot of youg and dumb talk . Got my 79 xs from a kid for 200$ with new tires new battery plus plugs etc he had the bike 2 months lots of donut marks in the street from a smaller bike 1or 2 from the 1100 massive burn on his lower leg guess he found out 1100s aint 250sthe hard way . my only crash was on a 175 on/of kawi small bike BIG DEER the way home from wedding rehersal lots of road rash nothing broken on me or the bike the bike was my wedding gift from my future wife . so id quit working on those old junks . we picked it out together she wasnt afraid of that one the old junks were 500 Matchless. the side hack is to hopefully to get her to ride more . If not theres the 6 grand kids . gramps put them all on bikes cors the 3 year old has to beg for rides still but he rides the hell out of his 16 inch 2 wheeler so it wont be long befor he's tearig up the drivway thank creator for looong drives . TERRIFIC SITE glad Kevin told me about it How many riders can blame their mom for getting them into bikes ? Mine was a stunt rider in the circus in the 40s. wanted me on a bike before i got a car.guess Im ramblin so I.ll get for now

    Matchless

Nothing wrong with a 500 Matchless. That is what I learned to ride on in 1947. Must have learned well because I'm still racking up the miles on two wheels. Don't have a Matchless any more but do have a 500 single Honda that I think of as my rice burning Gold Star. Have had a lot of bikes but still like a 500 4 stroke single for blasting the tight twisties. Pick a gear, plant the front wheel and crank it on.

      Hi Leon,

Glad you found the site. Get your XS11 running in top shape then you can worry about getting that hack set up. Have any pictures yet?

        new guy

        Kevin
that is just what I plan I want to get the Mechanics right on both spend most of the summer just learnig the new bike . found out I cant treat it like my other machines I am not scared or anything like that but I am beeing very cautios it stalled once while coasting a long steep downgrade and I just popped the clutch lots of sky and lumps in the shorts I wasnt ready for a wheely thats not my kind of riding . while you guys might think this bike is a kitten right now I feel like Im trying to train a tiger and will treat it as such for a while . if anyone drops me a line please note Im just fumbling around on my own with this stone age computer and some times i send stuff somewhere and never find it again including where I ment for it to go but I will try to answer everyone who says hi I cant take part in live chats cause I cant look for the keys and read at the same time one finger MANY KEYS! DOES anyone have solid experience with deer whistles on cages or bikes? i put a set on my xs the second day I owned it and havent seen a deer in 2 months but 3 were hit within 3 miles of home only yesterday! my bio is no joke I got broadsided by a deer the night before I got married ! he hit ME.
I can plan for the idiot in a cage but its real hard to know what a deer on the side of the road is gonna do. wont have pics till next week the bike and car are ratty looking but solid mostly want pics of the car and frame so somebody can tell me what the heck I bought need the misses to send pics anyway dont know how to yet
        thanks guys
