last two rides had too many close calls. I'm done riding unless it's a snow plow. I was watching the drivers passing me and only one in five weren't texting. Weaving into my side and forcing me onto the gravel. This is crazy. I'd be dead and they go to court and say OH sorry, I didn't see him. I'm done. If your interested in fully restored E, SF ,LH and XVZ. Send me a PM.

Whoa! Glad you're still alive and kickin'!
I think getting rid of your bikes after all the work you put in is a bargain severe but if it's really become that bad -- get while the gettin's good.-- Scott

Ya
It's just crazy right now. Old people look but don't see you or don't care and pull out in front of you anyway. Old people are the worst but they aren't the only ones. Everyone is in a hurry. I have to fix the uppers on the E and do some small things to the others and clean them up. I'd like to sell all three as a set to someone who collects vintage bikes and would appreciate them for what they are. I won't split the set up so some young kid can buy a cheap first ride and kill himself on it. Heart breaking really, I've had my SF for 39 seasons now and I'm the only one who has ever ridden it. But you have to know when it's time. I'm physically/ mechanically healthy for the first time in a long time and I'm too GD old to try to recover from another serious one.mack

Yes it is nuts out there on the highways and byways. As you say, people don't look, people don't care, law and judicial system is not on our side.
Splat a biker is mostly a misdemeanor offense if offender is even charged.
As Don Schlitz wrote and Kenny Rogers sang:
You've got to know when to hold 'em (when to hold 'em)
Know when to fold 'em (when to fold 'em)
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done
Making decision to just park em' is tough but it is smart not to mess with fate. Good to make a clean break, fold em' and walk away healthy.
We all realize this XSive stuff is a hobby and passion. Any $ or C$ value of the bikes is really secondary. The enjoyment we've had from riding and maintaining the bikes and being XSives is just the cost to play. Challenge is you have exceptionally pristine bikes to sell. Worthy of a collector.
As you state, it really is about getting the bikes into the hands of someone that appreciates the machines and can care for them properly. That's normally not always an easy or quick process and these things sure don't like sitting without regular use.
