      Hey Garrett,

The site monitor's posts, and there are a batch of "words" that are not allowed due to it being a FAMILY FRIENDLY site, kids view with parents, etc.! It's done automatically, not by the Mods/Admins, but the forum software itself!

Very nice work. I noticed that the 81H bars are a bit taller and make for a better riding position. I used to have a "bench" type seat but didn't like the look. Now that I am 62 years old, a seat like that allows you to slide your butt back to straighten your knees just a bit. Maybe I'll reconsider one of those. I stand on my pegs all the time...I hope they don't fail me!

I agree! Stay off those pegs! I’m building a real cramp machine now (Lazarus).i feel to need to name them all now. Since the only one I didn’t have a name for let me down. Literally ...hard and fast. But I think I’m gonna go for clip ons and rear sets to try and get to that crotch rocket position before I hit 50. It looks like hell but is really pretty comfortable for short rides. I’ll be sure and get well hydrated and eat a banana before I ride it!

I’ve been calling this one Beatrice. Ha

Oh it’s been sitting and waiting for a while. I started it a few times and had to put it on hold...for one reason or another....a lot of the parts I had but I had to throw some money at it to get some standard parts. I’m up to my armpits in special parts. Definitely not a month project.
Here is the pic from the day I got it......about 5 years ago.

I still have the blue crash bar, sissy bar and rack, seat, windshield, side covers,..... the seat is very nice, but has blue ribbing. If anyone’s got a blue 80 or 81 standard. I’ll hook you up. Lol and those turn signals....I may pay you to take them!

I think you’re thinking of my other thread, Lasarus...and that’s going to take a while, but I’m working at it consistently.

Yeah I always find myself looking at them.....and those m-50s. Especially the two color orange and black ones..they have the right shape ..but I have a hard time seeing myself on an 850 v-twin. Even if it’s fuel injected.
I have trouble paying my bills as it is, these old Xs11’s are all I can afford right now, and they go. Dollar for dollar I can’t think of a better bike. When I sell the house and get a shack in the woods I’ll get a newer one. Maybe by then ....50th anniversary?? They will make a retro 2028 Xs11!
                            What about swamp thing??

Swampthing is dead.. i sold it to a XSive here..he was going to do a full frame transfer..even had a donor frame from another XSive on here...BUt he got shipped out (US marines) to germany...I was gonna have 1st dibs on it but now its locked away in deep storage and wont see the light of day for a few yrs yet..if ever...
I know about being poor..LOL I'm retired on a very fixed income...so one bike is much easier to afford and maintain..Even if I had another XS11..it would never be a daily rider anymore..40 yr old bikes and a 66 year old non mechanical type dont mix too well.....LOL
