Cramps
I thought cramps were a unique problem for me. My right hip cramps and requires me to straighten my right leg for a minute here and there.
I know another member that stands on his footpegs when he gets cramps.
Are cramps a common problem?-Mike

I suspect hip cramps are an age thing I too get them from time to time. I have been told to stretch before getting on the bike and when i remember to do that it seems to work ..sometimes.

Lol, the worst part about all of it is....my girlfriend has her own bike and follows me a lot of the time....,she always yelled at me for standing up! I can just here her “those pegs aren’t made for that” “one of these days....” I almost would have rather laid there after than have her get to be proven right!79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)

Guys it may be aging on our parts but these Yamaha seats arent really that comfortable..honestly my last 10 yrs on these bikes and the seats have just killed me...I never liked the seat on Swampthing..and My XJ seat was just as bad. It didnt bother me when i was 30 yrs old but now in my 60s..different story... My new machine has a Russell Day long saddle...1980 XS650G Special-Two

Looking at most of the bikes I’ve done they all have the same problem. Low bars, low seats or both! I think on the cafe racer I’m working on now I want to try a set of rear sets, with clip on bars and a little, low seat. I know it’s a riding position that not a lot of us old timers like but I never cramp up on the katana or gsxr.79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)

My two favorites from way back when, have always been the first two pics in post #23. Remember them well as they came along back together. Definitely liked how they had been changed a bit from the stock look.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

And Thanks, Ben
Most all of my bikes were original factory paint! I sold parts and kept the good stuff for me. The custom paint was done by Pat Olson at Ole’s Classic bikes. The orange bobber, pearl white bobber(my crash) and the burgundy 78 standard bagger. ...Ole has been my savior in all of this bike work. Always doing the things for me I couldn’t and more than happy listen and offer up his advise on my hairbrain ideas. It’s always been my feeling that most bike shops are jerks. Treating you like it’s s club that you’re not a member of. Lol. But not Ole, he’s one of us. His favorite bike is the 79 11 special...he had more enthusiasm more my projects than I did half the time. He may have been the thing that kept me alive in my chop it up and go as fast as it goes days. I’ve always regretted not going up there when he offered to give me a crash course on Xs11 motor rebuilding. He said”you’ll hate me by the time you’re done, cuz I’m a pric, but you’ll know your ****” lol
I’m just a turd polisher.
Here are a few of his real restores.
He had a batch of those orange tank and side cover sets....wish I had bought them all!!! Love it.79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)

I think that one on the right may belong to an Xs11.com member. Fordea? I think it was....or something like that. I think he’s a musician from Georgia...? But I had serious head trauma so who knows. Lol79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)
