New Windshield

I just installed my new "National Cycle Plexistar 2" windshield and love it. The noise, wind and helmet buffeting is gone and I think I could probably go on a road trip and enjoy it now.

Glad to hear yours went on well. I just gave mine up. I could never get it adjusted quite right and kept getting a glare from my headlight. It made night riding interesting.

Windshield

Hi Bill,
I new you would like the plexi star.
Just curious to know what position you found to mount it where you get the least wind buffeting about the helmet.
I found that mounting it fairly high and only slightly raked back has been the best so far...(cept for wind over the guages).
But in my quest for comfort I am interested to see what you found.

Has anyone tried the National Cycle Plexifairing (I think that is what it is called.) I saw a couple on Yamaha triples (XS-750’s I think). These bike look a lot like the XS11 and I thought one should fit my XS11. I was looking at prices on the internet and one site recommened the Plexistar 2 instead of the Plexifairing but didn’t give any details. I would rather have the Plexifairing, if it will fit, because it come down the forks a ways and keep the wind off your lower body.

Bill, I have the plexistar 2 on my 80SG and I like it too. Just put a Maier Stealth on my 79F and I don't like it as well as the Plexistar.

I think the Plexifairing should fit, but I was told by the vendor that it was not recommended. The only reason I can think of is that it would block some of the air from cooling the engine.

night riding with Plexstar

Had a similar probem with mine. Bought a headlight visor, installed it in about 30 minits, problem gone and looks great with the windshield, too. When I get a chance I'll post some photo's.

Anyone have an opinion or experiance with any of the other National Cycle shields. I am debateing between one of the deflectors or street shields. I won't be doing much long distance but would like to have something to get the air away from my chest & helmet a bit. Bug hit my face shield today while I was doing about 70 and I thought I got shot!
