Still sunshine here. Flash flood warnings have already come out. I tried to get Florida relatives to come stay with us. Only my parents have done so.

        Hurricane

I am 100 miles south of Atlanta, in Alabama. Schools closed for tomorrow. Getting a little windy now. Tomorrow about noon projected to come right over us with strong winds and rain but a tropical storm at that point. Very likely we will have a few trees down. Thanks for the concerns.

Glad to hear all is well so far. Y'all stay in touch.

Haven't heard from Bikerphil yet though. He's right in the thick of it.

Bikerphil is most likely without power and/or cell service. I have a brother on Florida's east coast. Hi winds and no power so far. A friend lives in Naples. I'm pretty sure he and his family had to evacuate.

Supposed to have winds up to 50 mph here with a lot of rain. Potential for power loss is good. Have generator and plenty of gas ready.

I am 35 miles west of Orlando. Wind is howling and the rain is driving. Worst will be around the 2am hour. It's been a long day and going to be an even longer need night.

                      Power

It's been on and off, I am shocked we still have power!
Even more shocking is DirectTv still has a signal.

Sent the wife and dog to bed, no point in all of us loosing sleep.

Maybe shoveling snow was not so bad..
I will post updates along the way, Monday for sure.
I hope guys like Jeff in Tampa and the rest of the Orlando Gang are safe.

Well the worst of Irma passed over at 2:30 am. Looks lovely me she is headed north up I75.

Still have very gusty winds and heavy rain, will have to access the damage at daylight.

Hi Greg, no problem. Have spoken with people today from Florida north. Everyone of them report they are ok.

We have had steady rain and some wind today. Power has gone off and back on several times. No big deal other than we have quite a bit more rain on the way. Many businesses and schools closed today.

                              My City getting POUNDED!

                              XS Friends,
The worst is apparently yet to come but it's already been pretty bad.
                              • Neighbor #1 lost a tree hit other neighbor's(#2) truck
                              • Neighbor #3 has an oak on his roof.... Luckily a fairly small tree.
                              • Neighbor #1's bro lives about two streets away... two big pines slammed his house and his '57 chevy in the garage is TOAST! Saw the phone photos...ITS JUNK!

Power just came back after 3 hours out. Supposed to be worse in the evening.
