  • Hello and thank you

    Hello all.

I joined the forum the day I purchased a 1979 XS 1100 (yesterday).
The bike is a 10,000 mile version that the previous owner purchased a few years ago from an acquaintance that had it for years (maybe decades) in his garage.

The bike had a complete disassembly and had a very nice application of media blasting, paint and powdercoating.

Compression is phenomenal and all looks good. I do have a bit of rough-ish burbling low revs up until about 3K. The only other issue is a sluggish speedometer. The search engine on this forum is brilliant and I was able to dial in on what I was looking for.

I've attached of the bike from yesterday when I did the paperwork with the seller.

Note: I don't see an option to attach a photo...if I can't work it out then just accept my appreciation for the forum

Here is an example but photobucket is changing, for the worse but still works. Use the share this photo on the right and the bottom IMG. listing, click on it notice it says copied and then just paste in a spot in your message that you want to show it, http://s141.photobucket.com/user/Don...tml?sort=3&o=3 or https://tinyurl.com/ydx5zgfs

Can't wait to see your bike !

      HOWDY and Welcome

Glad you joined us in the XS11 fun
      Congratulations on your acquisition.

Probably get that sluggishness & burble out by cleaning the carbs again and checking the pilot jets. If bike has been sitting it may take some monkeying to get it dialed in. If you don't have inline fuel filters that might be a good idea. What condition is the inside of the fuel tank? Any crud or rust?

Also update your profile. I assume you have a standard but then again, maybe not. As Done posted, use Photobucket if you have it or another 3rd party photo site then just IMG as Done has shown.

USAF hey? I did some time with 9th Recon at Beale

              Hi JeffH and welcome,
seems existing photobucket accounts kinda still work but Gawd! The sea of ads you gotta bypass to use it these days.

This should be a photo of my XS11SG & American Spirit sidecar rig.
