  • Millenials strike again

    Hey there folks,

Okay, I was watching football this last Sunday night, and during one of the breaks, the network showed a graphic, can't remember exactly what it was for but what it was supposed to be was a vinyl record player, complete with a spinning platter, the tonearm/needle cartridge arm, all viewed from above/on top. The platter was spinning. The problem was that it was spinning backwards....counterclockwise....not clockwise.

So...I figured it was some millenial kid with illustrational graphics skills, but hadn't actually seen a record player in action!?!?

Just wondering if anybody else saw that and noticed it. I have just sent a CONTACT US feedback message to NBC to let them know about this faux paux, so not sure if they'll fix it before the next edition of football....the superbowl or not!

    Huh?

    Against the tonearm and needle?

    That would be really counterintuitive.

Saw the same, noted to SWMBO that the record was spinning backward. Same ad ran more than once, I think. can't remember hat it was for but would probably not buy it just because...

It apparently was a Pepsi commercial playing "Perfect Illusion and done on purpose from what I can gather.

Who knows... it wouldn't surprise me to find out otherwise.

              Thanks RadioGuyLogs,

Just reviewed the clip, and Gaga's Perfect Illusion has nothing to do with the Pepsi images, they were just trying to show some old school music playing technique, and some millenial just got it wrong. NOW I know who to write to, to tell them they screwed up.

I read the Wikipedia article about Gaga's album as well. I haven't heard the songs since I don't listen to modern/current "POP" music, and I'm being generous with the word music.

BTW, I thought I had a copy of what I sent to them, but not on my Desktop system, used my laptop and webmail to send the original to them, and they did not quote it in their reply. I basically said the same thing when I started this thread, also provided the YouTube video link to it!

                        Pepsi is still backwards masking!!

                        Well,

I watched the Superbowl Sunday night, and saw that they had NOT fixed the graphic. The turntable was still spinning backwards/counterclockwise.

I've been debating about writing to one/all of the late night hosts to see if they might take the bait in making fun of the millenial graphic artists that made it???
