    Hours required to build a vehicle: Top 10 (in efficiency) North American vehicle assembly plants:

    1. Nissan Smyrna, Tenn: (Altima) 15.33 hours
    2. GM, Oshawa, Ontario, No. 1: 16.40 hours
    3. GM, Oshawa #2, 17:03 hours
    4. GM, Lansing, MI, "M": 17:96 hours
    5. GM, Lansing "C": 18:09 hours
    6. Ford, Chicago: 18:24 hours
    7. Ford, Atlanta: 18:40 hours
    8. Nissan, Smyrna: (small SUV) 19:08 hours
    9. Nissan, Smyrna: (Maxima) 19:45 hours
    10. Toyota, Georgetown, KY., No. 2: 19:50 hours

    Anyone know how long it takes to build a bike?

    I remember in a Motorcyclist article about the new Kawasaki 1000 when it first came out, they mentioned the assembly time was about 2 hours.

          Toledo North Assembly plant builds a Jeep Liberty in 15 hours flat. I think they broke 15 but I'm not 100% sure about that.
          I do remember breaking 15 hours though it was an event.

            assembly time

            Keep in mind that those times are only assembly time. They don't include all of the time for the production of the sub-assemblies like engine, transmissions, seats, dash, etc, etc.

            I just finished touring the foundary, stamping plant, engine plant and final assembly plants for MB in Germany.
            (And that's not even thinking of all of the little pieces that have to me built to ,ake the sub-assemblies!)
