  • New member and New XS Eleven Owner

Well good fellows it not hard to guess m name is Ken and I just recently purchased a 80 XS Eleven. Bike is strong and runs out like it should, BUT, I am chasing a Charging problem. I grew up around motorcycles, well sort of, I spent my childhood summers out in the garage wrenching on Old Harleys with my dad. I like the obscure rare bikes or the ones that are hard to find or t=you don't see much of anymore. I also currently have a 83 Honda CB1000 Custom, It is a basket case.

Good sirs, Enough of my rambling, and thank you for the add

      Hello, Ken -

      WELCOME to the Forums!

You're in the right place to learn about all things XS11 ... and we look forward to seeing the pics of your new bike!

BTW, is your Eleven a Standard or a Special?

        Welcome KEN

        Ken,
        Welcome.

Please take a look at the XSSE thread in the Southeast Section. We're having a BIG rally next month in North Carolina and you're definitely in the neighborhood! One of our rides will go through the Southeast corner of Tennessee.

You would get the opportunity to meet dozens and dozens Yamaha enthusiasts on XS11s, XJ11's, XS650's, and several other XS & XJ models will certainly be in attendance with other vintage Japanese machines!

You can find the help here to resolve that electrical issue and have that ride ready for fun in no time!

I believe it is a standard. the previous owner said that it had a Vetter touring package on it. I have the hard bags and the mounting frame for the rear and they are in great shape, I am not going to be using them on this bike so I may later see if any of you fellers want them. Ill post some pics of the bike tomorrow.

            Hey Ken,

I sent you a link to the Ser#/Vin# thread
            http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=396
that you could use to verify your bikes status, standard or special, when I sent you your registration confirmation email.
After you confirm it, please edit your PROFILE and signature to reflect that, so it will be easier and quicker for folks to refer to when providing tech answers.
