Thanks everyone. I've been watching videos for the last couple of weeks about how to deal with 'Wings, and lifting was exactly the same as what we do for the XS. The touring package on my XS actually makes it almost identical in terms of width, and the low center of gravity on the 'wing makes it easier too. I will find a time to practice lifting it at some point, I'm sure. The PO did, I can tell by the vertical scrapes on the engine guards.

I don't plan to attempt a wheelie at ANY point, though I did chirp the rear tire in both 1st and 2nd gear riding it home. LOTS of power to get used to!

I'll definitely be keeping my website up. I'll just add a new page for the new bike. Its surprising how many external pages link to my site now - even from Europe!
    1980 XS850SG - Sold
    1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Whether you think you can, or you think you cannot - You're right.
