            Music

Well like I said I have several hundred GB of music already. There is a couple there that I don't have. Some I just haven't listened to in awhile so thanx for the bump. I really haven't bought anything new since we started having babies twenty five years ago. Money went other places and the foot tapping music got replaced with "Barney tunes" and toddler bobbler music. Just looking for who is new and I've missed over the years. TC if you want long songs, try some old 'Blind Faith"

                Hey Mack,

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've never been a big fan of Steve Winwood.

With such an extensive music collection you have, I have to ask, I remember many decades ago BLUE OYSTER CULT had a unique version of Godzilla that had an interesting guitar/bass duel in it. I've heard several of the LIVE versions, but they don't have that duel part like I remember hearing. Was wondering if you had any other version of Godzilla aside from the original 3:45 version, aside from the Some Enchanted Evening long version that also does not have that guitar/bass duel?

Most of my BOC collection are very early albums, before they went popish. Same for J Giles Band. My brother in law has a few hundred albums in my basement, he was big BOC fan. I'll have a look in his. Little busy here right now. Going through a marital dissolution so everything must go so when I get to the records, I'll be sure to look closely for you.

                    Hey Mack,

I appreciate it, no hurry at all. From what I've researched, it might be a special custom album made for the radio....can't recall what they call that sort of thing, but sometimes "they" make special DJ singles and such for AIRPLAY that can be different from the actual studio album/track?? If you'll listen to the regular 3:45 version, it's around the ~2 minute mark IIRC, it's after the part where they are talking in Japanese, and then the bass hits a few licks, and that's where they start the duel, and it would go on for like 30 seconds or more, but the regular version just jumps right in GO, Go, Godzilla chorus! I remember hearing the longer version with that DUEL on the radio when I was young, but haven't heard it since. I've got a pretty good acoustic memory, so I'm sure I'm not falsely remembering it, and my half brother also remembers it after I talked to him during a rally we attended together in XSeast years ago. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't a LIVE version, just an extended studio version that got butchered/chopped later on.

As to my patience, I remember hearing a long rambling song on the rented car radio while at a medical conference in Vegas in the late '80's, and then spent like 10 years trying to find that song, but I didn't know the artist, and didn't know what the title was, and it wasn't played by my local classic rock station. And the young punks at the record/CD store had no idea what it was or where I could look to try to find it.....and this was LONG before the Internet! BTW, that song turned out to be Nugent's Stranglehold!

I use mp3 rocket. Works well, easy searches for songs. You can copy and paste in a URL or just search by song or artist. Best of all, you can set limits on bitrate, for example, i download everything at 256KB/s. File size is a little bigger but quality is better. You can also edit song and artist information before you download the file.

                      mp3 rocket

On a related note. I do not believe anyone has ever been busted for DOWNLOADING music. Those that they have tried to make an example of and prosecuted were all sharing music out and the music had been uploaded from their computers.

You said you liked smooth Jazz. I don't know what you think of John mayall but I've got a very rare live album he did in Germany in 1971. It's got everybody that was anybody in the jazz field at the time. I heard it at a guys house when I was a teen and searched for decades to find it. It's not even listed on his official site. Any way I finally found it by accident in an old sidewalk stereo stand at a yard sale. Couldn't believe my luck. Anyway send me a thumb drive and I'll put it on for you.

Do what this fellow does and windows will not know what you are doing and will not send you nasty messages for downloading or other stuff. If you read the license agreement to windows 10 they have access to every word you say (if you have a microphone installed) and your camera and every file you look at.
At the bottom of the license agreement of 12,000 words is a statement that no one in their right mind should agree to. I can not remember the wording but it is easily available with a quick search. Check it out.
