  • 2016 AMA vintage days

I am going to the AMA vintage days at Mid Ohio this year. I will be there Saturday and Sunday. I might be looking for a few parts for my bike, maybe a kicker and a drive from an 850. I don't know exactly what I'm looking for so is there anyone on here I can text pics, ask questions while I'm there?
    Thanks,
    Tim

      Tim,

You can't really do 'realtime' and you need a third party site like Photobucket to post images.

I don't have any decent pictures for the kicker but I have some with the casting numbers for the Final Drives:

The EASIEST way to tell a 750/850 FD is the splines where the driveshaft goes in are not all the way out to the end of the receptacle on them, The 1100 splines go all the way to the end.

The way to tell a type 1 (early 750) is there is no phillips screw holding the bearing plate to the housing, the type 2, which is what you want, (Late 750 and all 850) has that screw.

A type 2 850 final drive shaft receptacle w/ screw......

I didn't find much at the swap meet last year that even resembled XS11 parts except for an attendee's bike, but maybe I wasn't looking close enough.

I'm hoping for the best this year! I'll be there Saturday.

Working on my list, but this is what I'm keeping an eye out for:

          '81 SH
          • Pilot box (upper) with or without entire cluster
          • Rear license plate light assembly
          • Reflectors that fit rear shocks

          XJ
          • Forks (good inner tubes)

I saw a lot more XS-related stuff this year. Nothing I really needed, though. I picked up a Yamaha t-shirt, a garage sign and some fuel filters. It was a great time watching the races and wandering around, though.

I didn't end up taking a bike this year.

              Was this yours?

Yep that's mine. I met a guy with an 80 standard who camped right across from me. He has owned it since day one. He towed a trailer with another bike on it from PA.! It was a great weekend and you guys were correct, not much xs stuff, not much yamaha for that matter. I got some highway pegs and that was about it. No deals to be had on any pit bikes either. I need one for next year. The 1100 isn't much of a pit bike, lol.

At the swap meet, I saw an SF for sale I think for $1400 maybe the 4th row in. Quite a few more rows down there was an MNS with $1600 on it, not sure which year. Aside from those, I found a small pile of parts but nothing really worth haggling over.

My wife and I showed up around 2:30 and left around 7:00 Saturday. It seriously started to clear out at about 6:00. Did you make it to the fairgrounds to see the dirt track racing?

I did not make it to the fairgrounds. We had our own amateur flat tracking going on at the campground! Very entertaining place to be on a Saturday night let me tell you! This is my Son on his 850, he just had to go join the fun!
