ok it did take some searching the internet to find instructions on how to get the command prompts...but once done then it told me exactly what you said TC...The only thing that confused me was the way you explaned the cmd prompt...you had it as ip/config/flushdns when it was really ipconfig/flushdns...so once i found the command page and typed it in correctly it was successful in flushing the dns...so now navigating around the site
has picked up although clicking the bookmarked homepage icon on my desktop is still slow...i may need to reboot and see if that does it..
edit...rebooted the 'puter and now we're up to speed...Thanks TC!!!

For some people here there may be a better solution for DNS. In your computer there is a setting for TCP for the internal network card. And even simpler is if you have a home wireless router.

Most generally make a setting to use automatic DNS setting and doing the configuration it picks up DNS from the first server which is usually your ISP. You can set your DNS manually and use a higher level DNS server. I have set mine to use Google because my local ISP continually had issues. Some ISP providers restrict this so it will not work for all. Basically what setting this does is direct you to a high level ISP for Name search and lookup (DNS) which is more current and gets past a lot of issues like we just had with this site having to rebroadcast proper information about the site

      For Google
      Primary is 8.8.8.8
      Secondary 8.8.4.4

Just something to try for those who still can not see XS11 or are having a really slow response.

TC this works well for DNS on host servers too, not sure how ours is set up.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Sorry IT is just like motor mechanics if you do not know what a head is its hard to explain valve adjustment. If you give what software you use we can tell you step by step how but you have to give the information of what OS or router you have.
