They sell mesh jackets for a reason.

I expected that Alpinestars jacket to cost a lot more. Looks nice.

Yes that is a good jacket...keep in mind that is for 3 seasons but not for summer well at least not down here...You might also look into Olympia gear...they have a similar jacket called the AST which is 3 seasons and then they have Airglide jackets and pants...these are mesh and appropriate for summer weather...Good luck with your search

          dbbrian,
That looks like a great jacket for wet or cold, but you'll burn up in it if it gets much above 80 degrees.

I bought a couple of Alpinestars jackets a few years ago. Paid a lot for them.
Their sizes ran WAY small. I normally wear a large. Even in 2XL, the sleeves are tight.
My biggest complaint with both of them were very weak zippers.
Both jackets had cheesy zippers. Every time I looked down, the zipper had split, and it was open! Not cool!

Mine are the GTP+R Air. Both are hot in 80 + weather, and don't flow much air, even though they're mesh and textile. The name's deceiving. I liked the way they looked, and that this model has chest protection padding.

These things may not apply to this model jacket, though. Just thought I'd give you the heads up about their zippers.

My latest jackets are FirstGear and Bilt. Both are far superior jackets. I also bought both in Hi-Viz yellow/black. Better airflow, construction, fit, and construction. Both were far cheaper cost, too.

Well, with all the above input, I've found the FieldSheer(FS) zip-out liner jacket to be most superb. Definitely proved its worth with the at speed T-bone accident I had last June24th. Armoured fore-arm/elbow sections along with armoured back-side.
