Tougher yet, was in the beginning.
He was born 4 months premature.
Mom got a tear in the umbilical cord, and almost lost him.
He weighed 1#6oz. at birth. First day, doctors told us to "prepare for the worse."
After one week, they were able to lay him in my left hand. His head at the tip of my finger, his feet at my wrist. Smallest human I've ever seen.
But, by the grace of God, and modern medicine... after 4 months in the NIC unit, he was a whopping 5#'s, and able to go home.
And, here's a recent pic of him today... Ethan- age 8.
