Well if your family owned England they would be English and would fly the Cross of Saint George. The flag you have chosen is the Union Flag of the United Kingdom since 1801 ( which includes England ,Scotland, Wales and Ireland)
The Union Flag consists of the Cross of St George Cross of St Andrew for Scotland and the Cross of Saint Patrick for Ireland. I guess the Welsh did not have enough political clout to get their Red Dragon included.
In modern usage the term Union Jack is also used though technically it was only correct when flown on the "Jack pole" at the bow of a ship.

You have managed to "fly" it the correct way up
The usual penalty for flying the Union flag upside down is a Beer for anyone who notices and claims the fine
