I don't care what stupid, idiotic or dangerous thing a biker does. I've always considered bikes defenseless and a car should never invade the space of a bike. If a bike is going to share space with a car, it needs to be at the discretion of the biker, but at that point it's on them. Bikes just have much more opportunity to trigger road rage through aggressive actions and poor decisions.82J · 81SH · 79SF Fire Damage · 78E · 79F Parts Bike · 04 Buell Blast

To all those thinking about concealed carry just because it is ok in your state there are different laws in different states. An owner can post a little sign in the window and you can not bring it in legally. Concealed carry means it can not be seen and if it is you brandished a firearm in some places. There are special conditions for schools prison property airports malls gun stores liquor establishments certain communities district of Columbia etc. If you drink so much as a mouthful of bear you lost your right to carry. One little puff of Marry Jane or standing where some one is inhaling and you could be in trouble. Having a permit does not give you permission to defend yourself you still must retreat as far as possible and be put into a position where you can prove you were in immediate danger and had no other recourse. Even though you shoot him/her legally they can still file a legal suit and take everything you have. If you shoot, shoot to kill that is the intent of pulling a weapon.
Here in my town and area Walmart supports open carry the banks support open carry and police will give you no hassle for open carry as long as they do not know you as a felon. So attempt to rob the wrong place around here or get into a fire fight with police and they may never know how many people shot you. We do not have many problems usually bad people from other places do not make it threw the area. And all the people here like it that way.To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Please spare me the lecture... A gun is a tool and it isn't seen unless my life or those of my family are in a clear and present danger. And theirs or my life is on the line...its not to be brandished...and if u r with me some place public you would never know I am armed... This is the only time I will even mention it1980 XS650G Special-Two

The thing that would probably get you in trouble with the issue in the OP is that you'd have to draw and fire while the car was still coming towards you. And the first question you'd probably have to answer is "if you were quick enough to draw and fire, why weren't you quick enough to get out of the way?"
A gun isn't going to get you out of this kind of situation, and would only make matters worse since the threat would be gone by the time you used it. Now if you're in a situation with someone trying to run you down and you have no place to go... that's probably a different story.
The guy with the camera did the right thing. He recorded the incident, kept his cool, and gave the police the evidence they needed to arrest the no-good old bugger. I'm sure he wanted to bust him right in the chops, which would probably have gotten him arrested for assault and battery.
Me? I like sleeping in my own bed at night. Been in jail cells... didn't like 'em. If I've got an out, I'm takin' it.I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
